Writer X is designed to be a simple text editor with extra features such as an internet dictionary for looking up words, a calculator, and more. This is a carbonised version of the freeware Writer, and has features that make it special to Mac OS X:

A decent window menu.
The preferences and quit menu items are in the application menu, as to the OS X standard.
Adds new help tags. Instead of the old tooltips, Writer X uses 100% genuine OS X help tags.
Adds a new icon
Updated Preferences panel that better suits OS X.ď Loads of other under the skin changes, that you cant see.
